Age Discrimination Survey

Introduction

Council on the Ageing logoGovernment of South Australia logo

COTA Seniors Voice, in partnership with the Equal Opportunity Commission, is interested to learn about age discrimination in the South Australian community. This will help us identify what can be done to reduce this discrimination. Age discrimination means unfavourable treatment in public life because of your age.

Public life includes:

  • the workplace or applying for work,
  • customer service, including the services of professions and trades,
  • education,
  • membership of clubs and associations or
  • access to accommodation.

The unfavourable treatment could take the form of excluding you, denying you a service or treating you poorly compared to others of a different age.

If age discrimination has happened to you, or to someone you know, please take the time to tell us about it by completing this survey.

You don’t need to give your name and names will not be used in analysing the results.

If you are responding on behalf of a friend or relative please answer the questions as if you were them. For example, if you are 45 years old and the person for whom you are completing the survey is 80 years old please tick the box relating to the age group ‘71 to 80 years’ in question 12.
