Participant Module Choice Survey

This is a survey for potential participants to complete. Since the participants are going to be the ones attending, it makes sense to ask for their opinion of what forums they would like to attend.

 We appreciate your time, as it will assist us on focusing on the areas of your interest.

All Purpose Lifeskills works in collaboration with other nonprofit organizations at their locations. The collaborating board, participants, and staff will choose the modules that they feel their clients will benefit from. Then the collaborating agency's staff will work with All Purpose Lifeskills to create a schedule for their clients. All Purpose Lifeskills takes care of the rest. All Purpose Lifeskills will work with agencies whose target populations are domestic violence survivors, foster youth, youth at risk, low income, and the homeless. We will provide our services without discrimination and regardless of ethnic origin, race, religion, disability, family status, marital status, receipt of public assistance, sex, or sexual orientation. For nonprofit agencies that would like All Purpose Lifeskills to provide financial literacy and life skills training to your clients, please completely fill out the Request for Services Form. This form will provide All Purpose Lifeskills with pertinent information to begin the process of providing services to your clients. Modules

All Purpose Lifeskills has a team of volunteer business leaders who have expertise they are willing to share. They will be able to provide an informational forum and answer questions. Please review the objectives of the forums. If this is an area of interest, please select that forum.

The first modules deal with banking, budgeting, savings, credit, loans, and home ownership.

Module 1 BOI    Financial Institutions                      60-90 Minutes

At the end of the module, participants will be able to:

• Identify the major types of insured financial institutions.
• Identify five reasons to use a bank.
• Describe the steps involved in opening and maintaining a bank account.
• Describe two types of deposit accounts.
• Identify additional bank services that come with deposit accounts.
• Describe the main functions of the bank customer service
representative, teller, loan officer, and branch manager.


Module 2 CIO    Checking Accounts                      60-90 Minutes

At the end of the module, participants will be able to:

• State the benefits of using a checking account.
• Determine which checking account is best for them.
• Identify the steps involved in opening a checking account.
• Add and withdraw money from a checking account.
• Reconcile a check register with a bank statement.

• Explain why it is important to be wary of rent-to-own, pay-day loan, and refund anticipation services.
• Determine if they are ready to apply for credit.

All Purpose Lifeskills will work with the collaborating agency to create a schedule. It is helpful to know the times you, as a potential participant, would be available. Please share this information, so we can do our best to set up the schedule to your convenience.



Preferred length of time for service delivery from All PurposeLifeskills. 
 
This is the length of time available for a forum. All Purpose Lifeskills highly recommends one 2 hour sessions, but we are willing to accommodate. The two hour sessions allows us the time to work with the participants on soft skills development (thank you  letters, phone calls,communication skills.)
