V. Story Proposal

Applicants to this program are required to submit a marketing based story proposal of no more than 300 words outlining a reporting assignment to be undertaken and published after completion of the program. The proposal will outline a plan to examine marketing and personal finance trends of local or national impact. In your story proposal, make sure to provide a succinct, one-or-two-sentence description of the story idea and a brief background of this issue. Explain if and how it has been covered previously and how it is relevant to your local community.

Please note: the online courses are scheduled to take place from October 22, 2012 through December 16, 2012 (with a mentoring period from December 17, 2012 through January 25, 2013).

Participants are encouraged to be actively engaged in the online course at all times.

The top three participants will be selected to participate in a 3-day workshop in New York City (each selected participant will receive a stipend to offset the cost of meals and local transportation). Selection criteria is based largely on participation and timely completion of all coursework.
