Professional Development RSVP Form

Professional Development for Teachers aims to supplement high school teachers’ knowledge of contemporary art practices and issues through directed lectures, participatory workshops, and object-based learning. The series of teacher-focused workshops and lectures provide teachers with historical and contextual information about contemporary art and will be offered three times during the academic school year.

Morning Session

9:30–10 AM: Registration
10 AM–12 PM: Exhibition Walkthrough and conversation between Jenny Moore and Erika Vogt

Morning Session and Afternoon Workshop
Afternoon Session
$5 (to be paid on the day of the workshop)
1–3 PM: Join New Museum educators to explore the artworks and concepts introduced in the morning session. Through a closer look at the featured exhibition and an interactive workshop, participants will consider the ways that artists respond to their surroundings and learn dynamic activities for engaging with contemporary art in the classroom.

The New Museum welcomes educators of all disciplines, but this program is geared toward high school teachers. Reservations are honored on a first come, first served basis. Workshop space is limited.
