Keep Texas Beautiful's mission is to educate and engage Texans to take responsibility for improving their community environment.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2016 Keep Texas Beautiful Awards for individual leadership.  These awards recognize the efforts made by individuals to enhance their communities and protect the Texas environment.


The award application must be submitted online, with written summary and supplemental materials uploaded and application fees received by 5:00 p.m., February 16, 2016.  Late, faxed or emailed entries will not be accepted.  There is an application fee of $10/entry.


Award winners will be posted on the KTB website (www.ktb.org) by 5 p.m., March 11, 2016. All First Place award winners will be recognized at the 49th Annual Keep Texas Beautiful Conference held June 20th - 22nd in Sugar Land.

CATEGORIES

Keep Texas Beautiful Leadership Award*
The most prestigious award Keep Texas Beautiful presents, this once in a lifetime distinction is awarded to an individual who has provided outstanding leadership in the areas of improving and enhancing the environment of their community, the state of Texas and beyond.


OP Schnabel Senior Citizen Award*
Recognizes senior citizens (age 55+) who demonstrate positive, dynamic and selfless public-spirited leadership in enhancing their local community environment during their lifetime.


Ed Davis Litter Law Enforcement Award*
Once in a lifetime award recognizing a law enforcement professional, such as a police officer, prosecutor, judge or environmental compliance officer, who has gone above and beyond in their approaches to enforcement of environmental laws and regulations. The first place winner will receive a $100 cash award.


Volunteer of the Year
Recognizes individuals who supported the mission of KTB through extraordinary efforts and contributed to the betterment of their community. For this award, the reporting period is January 1 - December 31, 2015.
