The Barbara and Michael Osband Scholarship

The Barbara and Michael Osband scholarship was created in 2015 to encourage, inspire, and support young women to advance in STEM pursuits. Ms. Barbara Osband is the visionary Chairwoman and CEO of Cambridge Biomedical, whose mission is to provide the healthcare industry with valid analytical methods and results on which to base efficient product development and patient care decisions. She is a member of the distinguished CEO roundtable. Her late husband, Dr. Michael Osband, was a pediatric oncologist. A researcher and beloved physician, he founded the company and held the post of Chief of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at Boston Medical Center.

To encourage young women to continue their pursuit in STEM, up to two $500 scholarships will be awarded annually to Science Club for Girls’ (SCFG) participants who are rising first or second year post-secondary students, and have demonstrated engagement, leadership, and interest in a STEM career.
