National Institutes of Health (NIH) program officers with various
centers and institutes at NIH will summarize their specific NIH competitive
programs. These WebEx presentations will be on a 20-30 minute rolling basis. For
example, Dr. Mike Humble is a program administrator in the Institute of
Environmental Health Sciences (Genes, Environment, and Health Branch). Humble
oversees the extramural Fellowship program, the Short Term Educational
Experiences for Research (STEER) in the Environmental Health Sciences program,
the R15 AREA grants program, as well as the research portfolios in skin
disease, immunotoxicology, and autoimmune diseases. Numerous program
administrators/officers will speak to their areas of responsibilities. Once Dr.
Humble completes his presentation, a different NIH PO will present, etc.
Selection of project administrators/program officers invited to present during
this seminar time was based upon the requests received from MSU faculty.
Additional time will be available for questions from the participants to the
program officers. Program officers will be representing the following Centers/Institutes: NIEHS, NCI, NIBIB, and NHLBI.
