2023 Philadelphia Bar Foundation Pro Bono Award

About The Award

The Philadelphia Bar Foundation Pro Bono Award, first presented in 2003, is given annually to a Philadelphia law firm or corporate legal department that demonstrates outstanding volunteer efforts in providing free legal services to those in need.

Nomination Criteria

Criteria for the award include satisfying one or more of the following:
  • Demonstrating dedication to the development and delivery of pro bono legal services in and around the City and County of Philadelphia;
  • Significant contributions to the development of innovative approaches to the delivery of volunteer legal services;
  • Participation in an activity that addressed unmet needs for legal services, including to underserved populations;
  • Successful litigation of a pro bono case(s) that affected the provision of services to the indigent;
  • Successful support of legislation regarding the provision of legal services to the indigent;
  • Demonstration of significant pro bono commitment and contribution over time;
  • Achievement of other significant accomplishments or activities that have improved access to justice for residents of the Philadelphia area impacted by poverty, abuse, and/or discrimination.

To nominate a law firm or corporate legal department, please complete the form below. Additional materials, such as narratives/testimonials from public interest attorneys/related professionals, are strongly encouraged and will strengthen your nomination.

All nominations must be submitted by 5:00 pm on Monday, May 15, 2023.
