Training Request Form

Thank you for your interest in the Education Law Center. We receive more requests for presentations than our staff can handle, so we have established some procedures to help us respond more effectively.

We ask that all people requesting a training complete the following form.

Please note that if you are from a parent group that is requesting a training on special education law, we do have a list of private attorneys who can do the training free of charge. Please be sure to note on the training request form if you are from a parent group and if you are asking for a special education training.

ELC usually charges $250 for 90 minutes of training, $500 for a half-day of training, and $1,000.00 for a full day of training.  However, we may adjust these fees depending upon individual circumstances. For instance, if you request training on a topic for which we must create all new materials, we may charge more, or the fee may increase if you would like more than one ELC staff member to provide the training.

In addition, we generally include travel time in determining the fee for the training.  For example, if you request a 90-minute in-person training, and it will take us four total hours to get to and from your location, we will charge for a full day of training.  However, the ability to pay a fee will not necessarily be the deciding factor in our accepting or rejecting the request.

We do give priority to trainings which involve 50 or more people, and are on topics which are priority areas for our office, including school funding, student discipline, student enrollment, the educational rights of children in care (including students in foster care and out-of-home placements), inclusion of students with disabilities, and the rights of ELL students.  We also give preference to training requests which can be done by audio teleconference and/or Webinar.

Once you have submitted your request, we will consider it along with other requests and respond as quickly as possible.  It is important to give us as much notice as possible.  We appreciate your understanding that ELC has limited resources, and therefore that we cannot accept all requests for training presentations.
