not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting bright, motivated and

Since inception in 1991, 100% of Minds Matter students have been accepted to a four-year college or university.
To be eligible for the program, a student must: --Have a strong overall grade point
average of 3.0 or higher (3.5 for Cleveland chapter, 3.5 for Colorado chapter) --Be committed to pursuing a college
education --Demonstrate strong academic
potential, motivation, maturity, and responsibility --Be active in extracurricular and/or
community activities (part time jobs included) --Show that he/she would benefit
greatly from a summer academic experience
--Be committed to attending weekly
Minds Matter sessions during the school year
If your child is accepted,
Minds Matter will:
--Provide a comprehensive three-year
program focused on college preparation.
--Improve his/her writing, public
speaking and critical thinking skills through an extensive weekly
--Assign each student two (2) volunteer
mentors who are working professionals with college degrees
--Guide students through the
application process for summer academic programs and, eventually, for
--Raise funds to pay for all summer
--Improve his/her standardized test
scores through an extensive weekly test preparation workshop.
