ECAD Assistance Dog Inquirer 

Please review all of the following question before starting your application. We have a long application, these questions are intended to determine if you are eligible to continue in the application process. 
A Seeing Eye Dog is a dog that can help you avoid obstacles, cue you to stop at curbs and steps and negotiate traffic)
A Hearing Alert Dog is a dog that can alert you to a great variety of household sounds like a ringing telephone or an alarm clock)
A Seizure Alert Dog is a dog that can perceive the onset of a seizure before it happens and alert you to it.
For example, do you have easy access to the outdoors, do you have other pets and, if so, are they friendly and do they get along with other animals?


In order for the dog to slow/stop a child from bolting/wondering the child and the dog need to be tethered together, with the facilitator (parent/guardian)holding the leash.
It is the responsibility of the facilitator to keep the team safe. Therefore, when the child and dog are in public or at school the facilitator must be present. Please note, the facilitator will be required to participate in ECAD's 13-day Team Training.
Unfortunately, we are unable to educate a dog to suit your needs. There are many other organizations that train Service Dogs, however. Below you will find the address of a website that lists many of these organizations and the disabilities for which they train their dogs. We hope this list will lead you to a program that can help you.
