Keep Texas Beautiful is excited to offer the new Youth Resource Library (YRL) Grant sponsored by H-E-B/Central Market. Affiliates had requested additional youth programming for many years and the goal of this program will fill that need by providing youth-based education programming for grades K-12.

The KTB website will host an on-line library where youth program models, templates, resources and guidelines will be available for affiliates to implement in their communities. These programs can be utilized in a variety of settings including formal and informal educational settings to address the needs of Texas communities in the focus areas of Beautification/Community Greening, Litter Prevention, Recycling, Sustainability, Waste Reduction, and Water Conservation. 

The grant application must be received by October 1, 2015. There is no timeline for this project, as it is an ongoing process. 

Grant Benefits:

• $250-$1,000 funding assistance 
• Additional support: press release, webinar training, templates to assist with seeking additional funding, technical assistance, general admin assistance
  

Eligibility

• Any KTB Affiliate who achieved Gold Star, Silver Star or Good Standing status in 2014 or will achieve by April 24, 2015.
• Identified educational setting where program will be implemented prior to receiving grant
• While not a requirement, affiliates are strongly encouraged to partner with local school, youth groups, H-E-B stores, recreational venues, government agencies, and/or community organizations. Multiple projects in a community may be funded, but a separate application must be received for each distinct project.

• Program must be selected from the Youth Resource Library.
• Program must be implemented and/or completed (if applicable) by end of October 2015.
• If total program costs exceed grant amount, the program can be completed using other sources of funding.  Please note, however, the program must be implemented.
• Engage local schools and other youth groups in project.
• Create sustainability plan to continue program without KTB funding
  
• Participate in an informational webinar about programs. (if scheduled)  
  
• Track the educational meeting and events that take place regarding program.
• Share project implementation, results and best practices at a session during KTB annual conference in 2015 (not required).
• Provide Progress Report, Final Report and Share-A-Project
