Cuba Travel & Learn Interest Survey

KFLA is planning an engaging, educational Travel & Learn to Cuba in 2016. This journey will be guided by Dr. Evelyn Hu-DeHart (KNFP-05), who has just returned from a half-year of research in Cuba and serves as Professor of History and Director of the Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in America at Brown University.

About the Trip
  • Leader: Dr. Evelyn Hu-DeHart (KNFP-05), recently returned from a half-year of research in Cuba and Professor of History and Director of the Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in America at Brown University.
  • Length: Nine Days (Two travel days, Seven days in-country).
  • Timeframe: June or July, 2016
  • Cost: We anticipate providing this Travel and Learn at a price of approx. $4,000 or less, inclusive of lodging, food, and in-country.
  • Food and Lodging: Lodging and meals are included. Accommodations are planned to be Casitas-style (Bed & Breakfast) rather than hotels.
  • Transportation: The cost of the Travel & Learn includes in-country transportation; you are responsible for travel costs to/from Cuba.
  • Partners, Spouses, Friends, Family: You are welcome to bring a travel partner of your choice who is (a) at least 21 years of age and (b) accustomed to this style of learning and travel.

We estimate this Travel & Learn will cost approximately $4,000 per person for a 9-day guided trip to Cuba, including food, lodging, and in-country transportation.

Route & Logistics
As of December 2014, Cuba is now accessible from the United States via U.S.-approved ports of departure/entry or, as in the past, via intermediate countries.

Length & Dates
This Travel & Learn is currently planned to be nine (9) days long, including two (2) travel days and seven (7) days in Cuba.


We plan to schedule the Travel & Learn in June or July of 2016.
