Info

Phillips Brooks House Association trains current and active program volunteers to drive 12-passenger vans. If you have not applied to volunteer for this term at pbha.org/apply, you must do so before completing this registration. Only those with a drivers license for two years can be certified and insured. Serious consequences result from driving prior to confirmation of insurance and certification.

Drivers help make all the programs run, thank you for signing up to become certified!

NOTE: If you are not sure if you qualify to drive, please email vehiclesandspaces@pbha.org

Next step #1 - Background Check

The Risk Management background check form has been replaced by an online application that must be filled out and submitted by the student. Once you get the report emailed to you, save it as a pdf file and turn it in with the other forms in the Van Driver Certification Document Upload link.

Instructions:
  1. Go to: http://vpf-web.harvard.edu/rmas/insurance.html
  2. In the middle column of the screen you will see “RMAS Resources”.
  3. Click on “Online Risk Management System”.
  4. Enter your Login ID and Pin Number
(Please call Steve at 617.413.7881 if you are not a Harvard student and/or have someone with a HUID log on for you)
 5. Now you will see the Risk Strategies page –it has a photo of some Harvard buildings on the top left.
 6. On the top right you will see a circle with “Automobile Services” Click on
 7. On the next screen, click on “Request a driving (MVR) Record”
 8. Fill out the form completely -just as it appears on your license. That includes the address on the license, not your Harvard address. Steve Griffin is the H.U. Driver Coordinator, scroll down and you will see Steve's Harvard email address. Don’t forget to sign the electronic signature. Submit and you will be done.

An acknowledgement email will be sent confirming that your request has been received.

Within 72 hours, Risk Strategies will send you an email with your motor vehicle driving record. Print this email (all pages) to PDF and upload it on the final van driver document upload (on the Van Driver website).

If, for some reason, the above link doesn’t work, try this one (but do the other one first): http://rmas.fad.harvard.edu/pages/online-risk-management-system-0
