Summer Start Scholarship Application

EAST BAY COLLEGE FUND’s

COMMUNITY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP AND PERSISTENCE PROGRAM:
Scholarship of up to $1K per year for up to 3 years of community college and if you transfer in three years up to $2.5K per year for 2 years of 4-year college Persistence support: MyCoach App (reminds you of deadlines), Summer Retreat (day long), CREWS bi-weekly meetings through freshman year (upperclassmen mentor freshmen on their campus), counseling provided by EBCF and college partners

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR SUMMER START SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:

1. Complete all parts of the scholarship application by Friday, May 13th at 11:59pm . We recommend filling out your recommender’s contact information first, especially their email, so they have plenty of time to write your recommendation.

NOTE: You will need to provide Proof of registration as a student at a Peralta College by providing us with your Peralta Student ID # in order for your scholarship application to be reviewed.

2. ¹ Enroll Summer Bridge or Summer Courses: OPTION A OR OPTION B

OPTION A: Peralta College Summer Bridge Programs

JUNE 27-JULY 22, M-TH, 8:15AM TO 2:40PM (3 options available, please ensure you register for all related courses included in the Summer Bridges programs).

OPTION B: Enroll and complete 2 classes worth a total of 4 units

earning at least a 2.0 GPA (at least C letter grade in both classes) in Summer 2016

3. Enroll as a full-time student at a community college campus for Fall 2016 (Peralta OR other California community college)

Important -- Please Note:

If you are planning on attending a Peralta College full-time in Fall 2016 and you did concurrent enrollment while in high school, you will have to go to the Admissions office and change your status to “Full-time student”

¹You must provide proof of class enrollment in one of the preferred Summer Bridge programs or other summer courses by Tuesday, May 17th at the East Bay College Fund Orientation event (this is a mandatory event) or no later than June 3 at the Awards Ceremony.

You will be notified if you are “conditionally accepted” to the East Bay College Fund Scholarship Program on Friday, May 20. Upon satisfactory completion of your summer courses (a minimum 2.0 GPA and proof of Fall 2016 enrollment), you will be granted full acceptance into East Bay College Fund’s Scholarship Program and are eligible for up to $1000 each year (max 3 years) for community college at a school of your choice, with additional money available if you wish to transfer to a 4-year school.
