The Unified District Poetry Slam Field Trips

About The Unified District Poetry Slam

Building off of the success of Youth Speaks in-school and after-school workshops, assemblies, open mics and the Teen Poetry Slam, the Unified District Poetry Slam is an exciting opportunity for your school’s students to perform, dialogue, and speak their minds with high school youth throughout the district and the entire Bay Area.

There is space for up to 25 teams representing San Francisco, Oakland, and the Greater Bay in this year’s District Slam. Each school team (4-6 poets) participates in one Quarter Final Bout the week of April 25-27, 2017. Finals will take place at Oakland Museum of California, James Moore Theater on Friday, May 5 from 7PM-9PM.

If you do not have a team that is ready to compete, you can come to celebrate with us as the audience! Bring your students to be part of the Unified District Poetry Slam bouts. There will be daytime bouts on both sides of the Bay during school hours. Sign up to be part of the Unified District Poetry Slam below.
