Board Connection - Nonprofit Request

Background

Memphis needs great people. Our businesses need talent to thrive; our government needs innovators to solve problems; our communities need pioneers to drive progress.

At New Memphis, we are in the business of activating leaders to make change in Memphis. One way we do that is by connecting our program alumni to nonprofit boards. Every day, nonprofits do the hard work of building and sustaining community. When they thrive, Memphis thrives.

New Memphis alumni are a dynamic group. Numbering more than 3500, drawn from over 25 years of program cohorts, they run the gamut of age, race, sector, and experience: from teachers in their 20s to C-level executives and elected officials. Please be as specific as possible about your board needs so that your organization can benefit from our extensive network.

Please note: board connection is a service that New Memphis offers free to nonprofits. Requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis; we may not be able to fill every request.

The Process.

New Memphis will share your information with our alumni in the hopes that your needs can be met.

We will then share information about your organization and board service opportunity. If there are people interested in learning more, we will connect the contact noted above to continue the conversation. It is up to the alumni to choose which organization they are interested in pursuing and to contact you accordingly. We also ask that you contact the individuals you are interested in.

Please note, your organization will need to follow up from there to vet board members and ensure they are the right fit. All offers to join a board must come directly from you, with all the requirements carefully outlined in your communications with the alumni.
