Volunteer Handbook
If you haven't yet read the agreement in full, please review 826michigan's Volunteer Handbook.

Please know that you will not be able to participate in 826michigan programs until you have affirmed via this form that you have read the handbook. Please also remember that volunteering with 826michigan is contingent upon the continued approval of the Executive Director, and can be revoked at any time, particularly in the instance of any violation of the policies laid out in the handbook and training (whether explicitly observed or suspected). 




And now, in small font, some words of great importance!
As a condition of volunteering, I give permission for 826michigan to conduct a background check on me, which may include a review of sex offender registries, child abuse, and criminal activity records. I understand that, if appointed, my position is conditional upon the staff at 826 receiving no inappropriate information on my background. I hereby release and agree to hold harmless from liability to 826michigan, the employees and volunteers thereof, or any person or organization that may provide such information.

I hereby grant to 826michigan, and its authorized agents, vendors, officers, directors, employees, licensees, affiliates, successors, and assigns the non-exclusive, irrevocable, perpetual, world-wide right and license to use, reproduce, display, perform, edit, create derivative works of, and distribute, in whole or in part, any photographs and/or recordings taken by me during activities sponsored by 826michigan, for any purpose, in any and all manner or media now known or hereinafter developed.

I acknowledge that I also understand that 826michigan appreciates me and my enthusiasm, but I also acknowledge that 826michigan is not obligated to appoint me to a volunteer position.
