We've got good news to share with you! Thanks to our arrangement with Campus Housing, we'll be handling the pick-up and storage of your items after the halls close through our Post Departure Pickup Process (PDP).

There is no need to stress about pick-up dates – just pack and label your items and leave the rest to us. You won't have to be present in your room when our crew swings by. Here are the straightforward steps to follow before you head out:

  1. Complete and submit the remainder of this form.
  2. Collect your free packing supplies (boxes and tape).
  3. Pack and label your items (our crew will only pick up labeled items).
  4. Leave your packed and labeled items in your locked room.
  5. Enjoy your break!

After your items are safely stored in our facility, you'll receive an email notification with an itemized invoice and access to view pictures of your stored items.  We will deliver in the fall!

What is a Preferred Pickup Time Window?

PLEASE NOTE:   We take "Preferred Pickup Time Window."  It is for your convenience, and we make our best efforts to pick up within "preferred time window." However, this is not guaranteed and may not always be possible.

We offer two different service types:  Main Entrance or Room Service.

 

If you choose Main Entrance Service:
You'll bring the items you're storing outside on the street level to meet our crew parked at your building. Main Entrance Service is free!

 

If you choose Room Service:
We'll pickup the items you're storing directly from your room.  All you need to do is pack. We'll do all the heavy lifting! This service costs an additional $35 each way (pickup and delivery).  In some cases you'll need to meet our crew at the front desk of your building to check us in and escort us to your room.

 

NOTE TO CUSTOMERS: 
Please note that your University does not allow any unaffiliated storage vendors entry into campus residence halls.
Therefore you may be required to bring your items down to the building lobby.  If you pay for room service and we are unable to perform the service, we will refund your room service fee.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

We understand that most students won’t know the exact details of their delivery when signing up for a storage pick up. Because of this, we don’t request any additional delivery information on this form.


Once your items have been picked up and your storage invoice has been paid, you’ll have the option to schedule a delivery through your Storage Squad account whenever it's convenient for you. This gives our customers time to finalize housing and travel plans, ensuring the delivery information entered is 100% accurate.


PLEASE NOTE:  If having your items delivered for the start of the Fall Semester, you must enter your delivery information by July 20, 2025.  August and September are the busiest months of our year and this lead time allows us to avoid any potential complications with your delivery!

We have some great news about your delivery!  Storage Squad has partnered with your University to make your storage experience hassle free. If you are returning to On-Campus housing at the start of the Fall semester, we will deliver your stored items to your assigned room before you arrive.  We call this a Pre-Arrival Delivery.

Before we schedule your Pre-Arrival Delivery, we work with University Housing Officials to obtain your delivery address and room number, along with your assigned move in date.  This ensures that the information we have on file is 100% accurate and allows us to schedule the delivery of your items before you arrive to campus.  You do not need to be present when we arrive to deliver your items! 

On the day of your Pre-Arrival Delivery, University provided escorts follow us in and out of every room to make certain your belongings are safe and secure in your locked room, waiting for your arrival.

We understand that most students won’t know the exact date, or even the location, that they’ll need their items delivered when signing up for storage. Because of this, we don’t request any delivery information on this form.


Once your pick up is complete and your storage invoice has been paid, you’ll have the option to schedule a delivery through your Storage Squad account whenever it's convenient for you. MUST READ!!! If having your items delivered in the Fall, you must enter your delivery information by August 1.  August and September are the busiest months of our year and this lead time allows us to prevent any complications with scheduling ensuring you get your stuff on time. 


Shipping Information

We will deliver your stored items to any destination within a 5 mile radius of your original pickup address. If you'd like your items delivered outside of this range we can ship some or all of your stored items to any address in the continental United States via UPS ground for an additional cost.

When shipping items via UPS ground there are a few things to keep in mind:
  • We cannot ship furniture, mattresses, or box springs.
  • We cannot ship electronics that aren't in their original packaging.
  • We cannot ship mini fridges
  • We cannot ship fragile items.
  • We cannot ship liquids.
  • We cannot ship bicycles unless they have been professionally disassembled and packaged prior to being in our possession.
  • We cannot ship plastic bins. These items are brittle and can break while in transit. We will transfer the contents of a bin into a cardboard box and dispose of the empty bin before shipping.

Shipping only some of your order assumes you'll be storing the rest. Make sure to label the total number of items for shipping separately from that of your stored items. Also include your shipping address on each of your items being shipped.

Packing Supplies 

Boxes, tape, and labels for FREE!  Moving blankets, mattress bags and reusable Smart Bags can be provided for a small fee.

Our reusable Smart Bags are approx. 27" x 14" 12" are made of lightweight, anti-scratch fabric that covers and protects your belongings while in storage. Smart Bags have a zip closure, carry handles and ID window perfect for post storage/multipurpose use at the gym, outdoor activities, grocery runs or general everyday use.

Using Your Own Packing Supplies?

Not a problem!  Just be sure to label all of your items properly.  Each item being stored should have a label attached containing the information listed below:

  • Full Name
  • Customer Number
  • Phone
  • School
  • Number each item out of the total being stored or shipped
    • 3 Item Example:  1 of 3 / 2 of 3 / 3 of 3

An average size dorm room requires 4-6 Mega Boxes. 
Help! I don't know how many Mega Boxes I need!

Our Mega Box is approximately 24”x17”x15” – or 3.8 cubic feet.  One Mega Box can fit an entire bed set (i.e. comforter, flat and fitted sheet, and two pillows)!  A typical dorm room or small apartment requires 4-6 Mega Boxes to pack.


Moving blankets are 54"x72" in size. You will be responsible for wrapping your fragile items prior to our mover’s arrival.



Please note that all mattresses and box springs must be protected with a mattress bag to ensure they are kept clean. 

How do I protect my mattress or box spring?

Prior to our crew's arrival, simply place the bag around your mattress, tape it shut, and secure a label with your information (Name, Customer Number, School, and Item Count) to the top outside corner. If you need assistance with this, simply have the bag ready to go and ask our crew to help once they arrive! If you decide to purchase a mattress bag from us it will be given to you during your Packing Supply Handout.


You need one mattress bag for every mattress or box spring being stored.

How does Declared Value work?

Each item you store includes $100 of free Declared Value protection, meaning, in the extremely rare event that a stored item is damaged or misdelivered, you are automatically protected up to $100 for each affected item. Additional protection may be purchased for a cost of $5 per $100 of Declared Value protection added. The maximum protection per item is $400 and the maximum protection for all items combined is $1,000.

 

Declared Value must be allocated on a per item basis. If you decide to purchase additional Declared Value you will receive small orange Declared Value stickers from our crew at your Packing Supply Handout. The number of stickers you receive corresponds to the amount of Declared Value purchased. Each sticker equals $100 of additional Declared Value. It is the customer’s responsibility to allocate and attach these stickers to the items they would like to further protect.

 

There are certain items like glassware, mirrors, Ikea furniture, and others (please check our Terms and Conditions) that cannot be insured! Electronics not in their original packaging can only be reimbursed for the cost of storage.

 

Please note that Declared Value protection refers to the total value of a package/item, not $100 for each individual article contained within.


Each item in your order comes with $100 of Declared Value protection.  You can add additional Declared Value protection to your order on a per item basis.  It costs $5 per $100 of added Declared Value protection. The maximum protection per item is $400 and the maximum protection for all items in your order combined is $1,000.

Our crew will deliver Declared Value stickers (each sticker representing $100 worth of added Declared Value protection) directly to you on the date of your choosing.  You'll adhere the stickers to the items you would like additional Declared Value protection for. 

Exposure to and risk of any loss in excess of the declared value is assumed by the customer. You may transfer this risk to an insurance carrier of your choice through the purchase of an insurance policy. Contact an insurance agent or broker if you desire insurance coverage. We do not provide insurance coverage of any kind.

Note For UIUC Students

We’re excited to handle your storage needs this season! To ensure the safety and privacy of your belongings, we require all items to be packed in boxes.  You are welcome to use boxes from other sources for items that do not fit Storage Squad-provided boxes. Storage Squad will also have specialty boxes during supply handouts for a small cost that can be added to your storage invoice.

You can collect boxes and tape at Mail and Package Services during their normal operating hours. 


In some Markets, we may not be able to accept large or oversized furniture items requiring 2 or more people to carry besides mattresses, box springs, and disassembled bed frames.  This may  includes desks and dressers, based on the size.

If you are trying to store a furniture item, and are unsure if it is too large to be accepted, please contact our Customer Support Team at support@storagesquad.com or call (830) 200-0269 to confirm. 

Please note that we can refuse large furniture items on site. 

Remember particle board furniture is not meant to be moved and is only covered up to the cost of storage.

The one-time reservation fee secures your appointment and access to boxes and supplies, and is a deposit which will be credited on your invoice after your items are picked up.  The fee will be refunded if you cancel your reservation in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.  


Your credit card will be charged within 24 hours of making your reservation. If you've already submitted and received confirmation, please disregard.


Reservation Fee Due Today
A $40 one-time reservation fee secures your spot for Storage Squad’s Summer Storage service. It allows us to reserve your pickup date, plan logistics, and allocate the necessary labor and vehicle resources for your service. 

Your credit card will be charged within 24 hours of making your reservation. Once your pickup appointment is complete, we'll send you an email notification letting you know a copy of your final invoice is available on our website. From there, your card will be charged for your storage invoice, service charges and surcharges. Any charges from additional services, such as shipping or special requests, will also be charged to the card on file. 

In most cases, you'll see the charge reflected in your statement within 2-3 business days. This may vary depending on your credit issuer.
