Submitting an application does not confirm your status as a coordinator with American Councils. Upon receiving your application, American Councils staff will review your application, contact your references, and complete a background screening. Within approximately two weeks of submission, you will be contacted regarding your application status.

Background Screening

The U.S. Department of State requires that all local coordinators working with high school age participants complete a criminal background screening.


American Councils will send you an email in the next few days which will include a unique link you can follow to the Intellicorp Online Portal to start the background check. Please check your Spam or Junk folder. If you don't receive a confirmation email, email us to let us know.
