The Nonprofit Space Stabilization Program (NSSP), a program of the Nonprofit Sustainability Initiative (NSI), has been allocated $1.455 million over two years for technical and financial assistance to support nonprofits adversely impacted by the real estate market.
  • Before completing this application, please read the "Program Guidelines" document at www.ncclf.org/sfsustainability for program eligibility requirements.
  • Financial Assistance is available to organizations that are facing permanent displacement, or have been previously displaced with lease renewals at significantly higher rates, or are facing barriers to growth due to real estate constraints. Organizations expanding into new sites may be eligible to apply.
  • Financial assistance may be used for professional services (architectural, engineering, legal); rent stipend; moving expenses; tenant improvements; and furniture, fixtures, and equipment. In Fiscal Year 2016-2017, $500,000 in grant funding will be available.
  • Fully executed letter of intent with lease terms, fully executed lease or accepted purchase offer is required. Past leases and purchases must have commenced since January 1, 2016.
  • Applications  must be received by 5:00 pm, March 28, 2017 to be considered for Round 1 Financial Assistance awards

Request for Financial Assistance
Organizations with a fully executed letter of intent (LOI) or lease terms of 3-4 years may receive a financial assistance grant up to $50,000 for professional services; rent stipend; moving expenses; and/or furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Organizations with a letter of intent or leases for 5 or more years may apply for grants up to $75,000 for professional services; rent stipend; moving expenses; tenant improvements; and/or furnishings, fixtures and equipment.
