WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

THIS COURSE IS NOT JUST THE ROAD TEST

NO SCHOOL CAN OFFER YOU THE ROAD TEST ALONE

The purpose of this course is to WAIVE the mandatory 60 day waiting period that one must hold a Virginia Learner's Permit & to BYPASS having to take the road test at the DMV. However it is NOT a quick or easy way to get a Driver's License! We cannot guarantee that you will complete this program before the DMV can schedule you for a Road Test. You will NOT get a refund if you begin the course.

THIS COURSE HAS TWO (2) MANDATORY PARTS

These two parts are required and cannot be bypassed if you have not done Driver's Education! If you choose, you may do each section with a different company. You are not required to do both parts with us.

You will be required to take 30 hours of Drivers Education followed by seven (7) mandatory Behind the Wheel sessions. On the 7th (final) session, our DMV certified instructor will give you the road test on behalf of the DMV. If you pass, you will be issued a Certificate of Completion - Adult Waiver (DTS-D).

THIS PROGRAM IS NOT FOR ANYONE WHO HAS EVER HELD A LICENSE BEFORE.

If you lived somewhere else in the world and held a license there the DMV will be able to look it up and find out. They will require you to come into the DMV and take the road test AGAIN after completing the course. WE WILL NOT ISSUE A REFUND IS THIS HAPPENS.

THIS PROGRAM CANNOT BE COMPLETED IN ONE (1) WEEK

You should be aware that you will NOT be completing this program in one week. Due to our usual Behind the Wheel schedule and the recent back-ups created by the COVID-19 Pandemic, you are likely to get your first Behind the Wheel appointment in around 2 weeks. This is not an 'ON DEMAND' service. It takes time and effort to get a Driver's License in Virginia.

THIS COURSE IS ONLY FOR ADULTS

You must be over the age of 18 to take this course. It is not for anyone UNDER the age of 18.

THERE MAY BE A DAELAY IN SCHEDULING YOUR BEHIND THE WHEEL SESSIONS DEPENING ON THE INSTRUCTOR'S SCHEDULE.

The instructors schedule may be pre-filled already with other students. This can cause a wait of 1-4 weeks before your first session. You also can only schedule your behind the wheel sessions ONCE you have completed and PASSED the Driver's Education Course!

The DMV Told You About This Program:
The DMV tells customers about the Adult Waiver Program after they receive their Learners Permit. They do not know whether or not you qualify for the program, just that the program exists.

How Will We Know How Much Experience You Have?
An inexperienced driver cannot hide their inexperience. Our instructors are professionals in this field and have many years of experience teaching new drivers. They will know that you are not experienced enough for this program and will turn you away from the Adult Waiver Program because you do not have the experience necessary to pass the Road Test.

You Don't Want To Take The Road Test at DMV:
The Road Test given by AA Driving Academy is the SAME as the Road Test Administered by the DMV, it is not easier. You will not be passed automatically because you paid money. The same rules will apply to you when taking the Road Test with us as they would if it was being administered by the DMV. This is not an easy way to pay for a passing grade on an exam. Our families share the roads with all of you and we will not license unsafe or unqualified drivers.

Those who have previously held any type of Driver's License from Virginia, Another State, a U.S. Territory or Foreign Country, are NOT ELIGIBLE to take the Adult Waiver Program.
