Explore the World is open to applicants who reside and/or attend school on of the HI USA Communities in the drop-down list.


Recipients will need to submit verification of the address within the selected HI USA Metropolitan Area.

Applicants may only submit ONE application for the 2019 Explore the World Scholarship.
     
APPLICANT INFORMATION




     
APPLICANT INFORMATION AND ELIGIBILITY
     

Applicants must be 18-30 at the time of application.     

     

As the award is considered taxable income in some cases, applicants must either be a US citizen or permanent resident (possess a Green Card.)  

     

To be eligible to receive the award, an applicant must meet at least one of the following financial criteria:
Recipients will need to submit documentation to verify this information; 
either a copy of the 2018 tax return (if claimed as a dependent, this includes parental information) or a financial aid award letter indicating receipt of the Pell Grant.

     

Applicants must reside or attend school within the HI USA community to which he/she is applying. 
Awardees will be required to verify their address.

This scholarship is only for travel outside of the 50 U.S. states. Duration of travel must be at least one week (7 days). HI USA recommends against travelling in any area identified in a travel advisory.

Travel must fall between May 15, 2019 and August 31, 2020.  Pre-travel funds will not be available to request until 5/1/19 (upon completion of scholarship requirements.)
