Who can enter?

All qualified hairdressers who work in the GCC in a commercial environment and have done so for a minimum of two years excluding training may enter this category.

Entry Deadline

The deadline for all Awards entries is 23:00HRS (GST) ON 23rd September 2018.

Any entries received after this date, or any updates to entries already submitted, will not be counted.
RULES


The use of wigs, hairpieces, extensions or strands is strictly forbidden.


ENTRANTS MUST SUPPLY BEFORE SHOTS OF ALL MODELS.


Entrants need to supply a collection of four images - each depicting current, commercial colour trends.


• Four full colour, high resolution photographs, of the hair before colouring.


• Four full colour, high resolution photographs, of the same model's hair after colouring.


• All photographs must be created by you during the past 12 months


• For each look, a technical analysis of the model's hair prior to colouring must be submitted outlining -  texture, porosity, previous colour applications and other relevant information which should include:


1. A breakdown of the colour products used and the reasons why they were chosen to create the end result.


2. An insight into shade selection and the reasons for their usage, e.g.: eye colour, skin tone, texture enhancement. A comprehensive outline of the techniques used including terms such as foils, mesh, slicing, colour merging, colour panels, pre-lightening, pastel shading and tonal variation.


3. A storyline of the concept behind the finished result and how the colouring technique complements the finished look.

Due to the high volume of entries some users may experience problems uploading images and other files. Please use the following guidelines to ensure you do not loose your work and avoid these difficulties.

2) Keep a copy of all the text you enter in a word document, so just incase the online form does crash you have a backup.

 

3) When uploading files, make sure they are in only one of the following formats:

DO NOT UPLOAD any of the following as doing so will automatically invalidate your entry:


ZIP files, Any video file, Powerpoint or similar file

 

4) Also make sure the files are no larger than 2MB in size.

 

5) Select and upload each file one at a time. Save your progress after each file before uploading the next.

Files larger than 2MB may result in the upload failing and in some circumstances cause your entry information to be lost. If you are unsure of how large the files are please save your progress now before attempting to upload files.

Techincal Analysis


TECHNICAL ANALYSIS (to be completed for each look included)

For each look, a technical analysis of the model’s hair must be submitted outlining: texture, porosity, pre-colour applications and other relevant information as below:

All that is left to do is to submit this form by hitting the 'Submit' button below.
