Princeton AlumniCorps: Project 55 Fellowships

Are You Ready to Work for Social Change?
Princeton AlumniCorps would like to welcome you to the Project 55 Fellowship Program. Since 1989, our organization has created opportunities for recent Princeton graduates to create significant impact alongside organizations committed to the public good.
Project 55 Fellowships include professional opportunities from a wide variety of sectors, including, but not limited to, healthcare, education, law, sustainability, and technology. These one-year paid fellowships exist in urban areas throughout the United States, including the Bay Area, Boston, Chicago, New York City, Princeton (Greater NJ), and Washington D.C.
Our fellowship is much more than a professional placement. Every Project 55 Fellow is matched with a mentor who will provide insight and guidance throughout the year. As a Project 55 Fellow, you will also have the opportunity to participate in continued learning activities through local and national seminars that enhance your understanding of social change. Additionally, a network of driven volunteers lead efforts to build community and provide professional development opportunities for all fellows.
We encourage you to explore further by starting this application, watching a brief video about Princeton AlumniCorps, and emailing Hema Lochan at, with any questions. Our staff is committed to helping you find an opportunity that will both inspire and challenge you to become a civic leader!

Keep in mind that you are applying to the Project 55 Fellowships program as a whole, and not for a specific position at a specific organization. For that reason, we ask that you do not mention organizations by name in your application responses. A Fellowship Directory will be made available in December, prior to interviews. We encourage all applicants to review past organizations using our alumni directory.
Only completed applications will be considered. Your application will be reviewed by AlumniCorps staff and volunteers, primarily consisting of other Princeton alumni. Selected applicants will be invited to interview with Princeton AlumniCorps. Following an initial interview, applicants will be asked to submit preferred organizations for consideration. While the majority of applicants receive at least one referral for an interview with a partner organization, it is possible to receive anywhere from zero to three referrals. Once referred to an organization, applicants will be asked to respond to a few organization-specific questions unique to each partner organization. Applicants then work with a contact at their referred partner organization to schedule a time to interview. Following interview(s) with a partner organization, applicants will be notified of any offers. It is possible to receive more than one offer. All initial offers will be provided in early March (our anticipated notification date is Monday, March 5th). Applicants will then have until Friday, March 9th to accept or decline an offer.
Partner organizations will receive your entire application, however, we will omit photographs from your application prior to sending to partner organizations.
The overall Project 55 application process consists of the following required steps:
