Camp ShareWell: Summer 2018
CAMP SHAREWELL offers a unique blend of best practices in early childhood education and high-caliber arts education experiences with a focus on social responsibility! Each day will incorporate plenty of arts & crafts, music & movement, and lots of museum playtime that helps to develop the whole child!

WHEN: 10 Weeks offered for Summer Camp 2018: June 18-Aug 31 (No camp July 2-6)
TIME: Mon-Fri, 9:00am-3:00pm
           After Care (Mon-Thurs), 3:00pm-5:00pm 
COST
         EARLY BIRD RATES (By April 14*): FULL WEEK - $295 Members / $320 Non-Members
                         *Register by April 14 to receive Early Bird Rates ($30 off General Rates)
         
         GENERAL RATES (Starting April 15): FULL WEEK  -  $325 Members / $350 Non-Members
         
         AFTER CARE RATES: Mon-Thurs - $100 or Per Day - $35
                          After Care is from 3pm-5pm, Monday - Thursday
         Registration includes ONE Camp ShareWell T-Shirt per child per week(s) registered

LUNCH: Packed from home (nut-free) with labeled water bottle
SNACKS: Provided by Camp ShareWell
RATIO: Camp staff to participant is 1:6 to maintain quality instruction

CANCELLATION: ShareWell will issue a refund for cancellations made at least four weeks prior to the first day of camp less a mandatory $75.00 cancellation fee for up to four weeks of camps and an additional $25 per each additional camp week after 4 weeks. There will be no refunds for any camp week(s) that is cancelled within four weeks of the start week.  No refunds for aftercare. ShareWell reserves the right to cancel any camp week or aftercare if enrollment minimum is not met. Transfers from one week to another will be based on availability and must be made at least two weeks prior to the scheduled camp date.

Please mark each week(s) for which you would like to register your camper(s) by selecting either 'Member Price' if you are a Museum Member or 'Non-Member' if you are not a  Museum Member under the 'Add this Camp' option. You will need to enter each camper's information for every week for which you are registering them. If you would like to add an additional camper, please select 'Add another camper' in the lower right corner for the selected camp week.

PROGRAM POLICIES & PROCEDURES

CAMP SHAREWELL

Policies and Procedures


LOCATION

The Zimmer Children’s Museum by ShareWell at 6505 Wilshire Blvd. Suite 100, Los Angeles, CA  90048 (Inside the Jewish Federation Center).


PARKING
Camp Parking Passes will be distributed upon check-in.  Parking is available in our Visitor Lot, just west of the building entrance. Let parking attendants know you are here for Camp ShareWell. Park, and walk your child into the building. Turn left after passing through security.

 

CAMP HOURS

Camp hours are from 9:00am-3:00pm


Sign-In begins at 8:40am in the Slavin Children’s Center. To ensure quality experience for all participants, please be on time.

 

Sign-Out begins at 2:30pm OUTSIDE the building entrance.

 

Aftercare is offered at an additional cost from 3:00pm – 5:00pm, Monday - Thursday. An additional $10 late pick-up fee will be charged for every 10 minutes after 5:00pm.   

 

DROP-OFF & PICK-UP

For the security of your child, each child must be signed -in and -out at the beginning and end of each day. 


Authorized Pick-Up – Please be sure that any adults (other than yourself) picking up your child are authorized to do so. Any other adults picking up campers will be asked to present an ID.

 

To DROP-OFF and SIGN-IN, park and walk campers into the Slavin Children’s Center (turn left after passing through security, opposite the museum entrance). 


TO PICK-UP and SIGN-OUT, you will show your Camp ShareWell Parking Pass to ShareWell staff who will be standing outside of the building near the entrance to our Visitor Parking Lot. Park, then meet Camp ShareWell staff stationed outside of the building to sign-out.  During this time, Camp ShareWell staff will bring your child out of the building to meet you!

 

POTTY PROFICIENT

All campers must be potty proficient by the start date of their camp week. 


WEAR

Each participant will receive one Camp ShareWell T-shirt for each week registered. All campers must wear a Camp ShareWell T-shirt each day so that staff can easily identify campers from regular museum guests while playing in the museum. Previous Camp ShareWell and Camp Zimmer shirts are okay! Additional T- shirts are available for $10. If you forget a t-shirt, you will be required to purchase another one.

 

EXTRA CLOTHES

Please pack an extra change of clothes (we recommend 2 sets of bottoms), to leave with us for the week. We’ll be making messes on purpose (with paint and water!), and by accident (because we’ll be so excited we forget how our bodies work!) Please label everything!

 

SNACK & LUNCH

Please pack a nut-free lunch that does not require refrigeration or microwaving. Please include a water bottle with your child’s name on it. We will provide snacks that rotate between fruits, pretzels, crackers, and extra water! Please notify staff of any food allergies and any dietary restrictions.

 

TOYS

There are so many great ways to play at the museum, please leave toys at home! Thank you!

 

EMERGENCY INFORMATION

On your first day of camp, please review your emergency contact information that you provided upon registration. This includes a list of adults authorized to pick-up, an emergency contact other than yourself, any allergies & medical conditions, and acknowledgement of your understanding of our policies & procedures.


CAMP SIZE & STAFF

To maintain quality instruction, camp staff to participant ratio is 1:6. ShareWell administers background checks for all museum and Camp ShareWell staff.  Camp staff are trained in CPR/First Aid and have previous experience working with young children, with backgrounds in early childhood, art education, or specialties in relevant fields enhancing overall program quality and experience!

Transfers from one week to another will be based on availability and must be made before any missed camp dates. Registration cannot be transferred to other individuals.
