Monterey Bay Aquarium - Young Women in Science, Otter Mystery Camp 2018 Application

Thank you for your interest in the Young Women in Science (YWS) program!

YWS is a bilingual, week-long summer day camp for middle school girls.  During camp, girls will have the opportunity to explore the field of marine biology by engaging in hands-on science while learning about various ocean habitats and the importance of ocean conservation.  Field experiences include surface scuba diving and kayaking through the Elkhorn Slough.  Girls who are currently enrolled in schools in Monterey, Santa Cruz, or San Benito county and will be entering the 7th or 8th grade during the 2018-2019 school year are eligible to apply.

Otter Mystery camp will take place the week of July 16-20.  Camp occurs Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (start/end times will vary for participants using Aquarium-provided transportation).  Camp activities will be held at various sites in the Monterey Bay area, including the Monterey Bay Aquarium.  Lunch and transportation will be provided each day of the program.

There is no fee for this program.

The deadline to apply is March 16th, 2018.
