Workshop in Discourse Analysis

Cost: $200 (not including room and board and community life fee)

Part of the workshop will include sitting in on the LING 4/691 Discourse Analysis class. Enrolling in the workshop does not mean receiving credit for this class.

On-campus housing is available during the summer session. Single students will be staying in the dorms with a roommate. Married students and students with families will be staying in apartment-style housing with a separate bathroom, living room, and small kitchen.

If you are staying for the entire summer session, you will receive the regular rate. If you are staying for only a portion of the summer session, your rate will be pro-rated, by the week.

Please note that there is no meal plan included in on-campus housing. Students are free to plan their own meals, buy their own groceries or visit the cafeteria. Students often form cooking groups to share in the cost and preparation responsibilities. Shared kitchen facilities will be supplied with dishes and appliances.

The tentative 2019 housing rates are:
Single students: Shared Dorm Room: $1250
Married Students: One Bedroom Apartment: $3100
Married Students with Children: Two Bedroom Apartment: $4400

Payment for the Discourse Analysis Workshop ($200) is due  by April 30, 2019 and is done by PayPal. The link will be sent to you upon acceptance to the Discourse Analysis Workshop.

(If you choose to take a course for academic credit alongside the Discourse Analysis Workshop, you will be required to register and tuition will be paid to TWU via one of these methods: Payment Options)
It is required that you have sufficient health insurance to cover you during your studies at CanIL.

Community Life Waiver
The Community Life program during the summer session at CanIL, is an integral part of the growth and training that you will experience here. This involves camping trips, brunches, t-shirts, and outings of all sorts. As a result, we require that all Summer@CanIL students and workshop participants sign a Community Life Waiver.

We would encourage you to read this document now and indicate that you agree.

This agreement must be read, consent indicated and submitted via this Registration form before participating in any CanIL events.
CanIL Image Release
CanIL produces videos, web, social media and print publications for the purposes of recruiting students, scholarship funds, and other special project support. We would appreciate your permission to use photos or video footage that may contain images of you.


I hereby give permissions for images of myself, captured during regular and special CanIL activities through video, photo and digital camera, to be used for the purposes of CanIL promotional material and publications and waive any rights of compensation or ownership thereto.
If you decline this Image Release Waiver, then you will be placed on a "No Photo" list. The CanIL Communications Department will not include your image or name in any public sphere. Beyond this, it is your responsibility (as needed) to monitor any casual photos that may occur with friends.

CanIL Directory
The CanIL Directory is a list of all CanIL students and workshop participants with their email addresses and phone numbers, which will be available to every student that wants one. This will make it easy for you to locate fellow students.

If you choose to have your information listed in the Directory, the email and phone numbers listed on page 1 of this form will be used.
CanIL Events
CanIL Events is a weekly newsletter sent via email that is published Tuesdays and Fridays. It contains announcements from students and staff about activities, furniture for sale, free stuff, or any other information that staff and students want to announce to the CanIL family.

If you choose to receive these emails, the CanIL Events newsletter will be sent to the email address that you listed on page 1 of this form.
