New User Accounts

New accounts will receive two separate emails with a user-name and password to log into our system.

New EFT and Portal accounts have the following password requirements:
  • Minimum password length: 8
  • Must contain at least 4 characters from the following categories:
    • Uppercase
    • Lowercase
    • Number
    • Symbol (EFT Accounts only)
    • Must not contain 3 or more characters from the user name
    • Must not contain 3 or more repeating characters

EFT and Portal Users are no longer required to change their first-time password immediately upon first use

EFT and Portal Users can reset their password at: https://eft.virginpulse.com/EFTClient/Account/Login.htm

In order to reset their password they need to know their username and email address associated with the account. There is no IP restriction to this process and no matter what they enter they will always receive the message: "Your request to reset your password has been submitted. Please check your e-mail account in a few minutes." (even if they entered an incorrect username or password)

To connect using sftp type at the terminal:
sftp username@eft.virginpulse.com

Security Notes And Account Details
1. IP address will be blocked in our system after 5 invalid connection attempts. Blocks do not expire, you will need to contact your account manger to open a ticket with IT to remove this block.

2. Accounts will be locked out after 7 invalid login attempts over a 5 minute period. Accounts will be locked for 60 minutes.

3. Root folders cant handle more then 100MB of files due to a quota that is in place. If you require more space please have your account manger open a ticket with the EFT Team to increase this space for you.

4. An unused account will be disabled if no connection has been made after 120 days.
MAC Algorithms
“SFTP Error: The negotiation of MAC algorithm has failed”

If you receive an error that mentions the MAC algorithms it could be related to the SSH encryption, ciphers and algorithms. It could mean that the automated process / application running the SFTP connection step may have a mismatch either for the encryption, either MAC algorithms, either key exchange ciphers.

Below are our supported SSH settings. Please confirm that there are matches on all levels from your side.
