What does BBBS of CT do? Big Brothers Big Sisters of Connecticut provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. The agency matches adult volunteers with children (ages 6-14) for the purpose of developing long-lasting, one-to-one mentoring relationships.

What is the individual I am providing a reference for being asked to do? The applicant for which you are providing a reference has applied to become a volunteer mentor with our agency. As such, they have agreed to make at least a one-year commitment to the program during which they will spend, on average, 6-10 hours per month with the child they are ultimately matched with.

Is this reference form a common practice for screening all volunteer applicants? Yes, the reference form below is a standard questionnaire completed by all those providing reference for prospective volunteers and similar questions are also asked of each volunteer applicant during their interview. All information that you elect to share in providing this reference will remain confidential.

How do I complete the reference form? Once you have completed the form, click the “Submit” button. You will be taken to e-signature screen where you have the opportunity to review all the information you provided before submitting. After electronically signing your reference, you will see a message confirming that your form has been successfully submitted.
