We encourage policy-focused proposals that help funders learn, engage and develop collaborative strategies on federal, state, tribal, and/or local policy, as well as grassroots community organizing and power building to influence public policy. We expect that half of the sessions presented at the 2023 SAFSF Forum and throughout the year will have a policy focus.
Key areas of policy interest include discussions of policy priorities, advocacy, and funding strategies related to:
- The farm bill and key states represented on Congressional agriculture and appropriations committees
- Child Nutrition Reauthorization and other nutrition incentives legislation
- USDA funding and equity programs
- State legislative policy issues/campaigns
