This training covers how to register copyrights for different types of artists, including visual artists and musicians, fringe rights and issues associated with registering copyrights, and issue spotting while assisting artists with copyright registration. Attorneys taking the training must be licensed to practice in Maryland and agree to accept a volunteer opportunity (either a taking a case or staffing the Art Law Clinic) from Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (MDVLA) within 1 year of registering. Law Students and JDs taking the training must agree to shadow a staffing attorney at one Art Law Clinic within 1 year of registering.
