W.A.T.C.H. Program Application 2019

Thank you for your interest in the W.A.T.C.H. Program (Watsonville Area Teens Conserving Habitats)!  W.A.T.C.H. is a two-part program: a two week summer program + school year honors science class.

If you join W.A.T.C.H., YOU ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND A SUPER FUN ORIENTATION on Tuesday June 11 followed by one of our two summer sessions.  Summer sessions are two weeks long, and are scheduled for June 17 - June 28 and July 15 - July 26, 2019. They run from Monday through Friday, 7:45 am - 4:00 pm, and we meet at Pajaro Valley High School. For these summer activities, daytime food and transportation will be provided.

During the school year, you and your W.A.T.C.H. group will develop a scientific question and work to answer it by collecting data in the field.  With the help of local scientists, your teachers, and the W.A.T.C.H. staff, you will learn how to interpret your findings and present them in the spring to a variety of stakeholders in the community.  By committing to the W.A.T.C.H. program you will gain skills in teamwork, technology, leadership, science communication, public speaking, and much more!
