PLEASE READ
  1. The TST STEM scholarships recognise the academic excellence of students enrolled in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics tertiary study.
  2. There are 3 scholarships available valued at $10,000 each.
  3. The scholarships are available to registered members who reside in Aotearoa New Zealand and who are in their third year or higher of University study.
  4. The scholarships are available for students in full-time study who are studying in the following fields:
    1. Science
      1. Environmental -freshwater, biodiversity, ecology.
      2. Geology
      3. Volcanology
      4. Biotechnology
      5. Neuroscience
      6. Epidemiology
      7. Microbiology
      8. Psychology
      9. Chemistry
    2. Technology
      1. Information and Communication Systems
      2. Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
      3. Programming
      4. Design Innovation
      5. Media and Creative Technologies
    3. Engineering
      1. Civil
      2. Structural
      3. Surveying
      4. Environmental
      5. Geotechnics
    4. Mathematics
      1. Statistics
      2. Analytics
      3. Economics
      4. Predictive Analysis
  5. Applicants must provide:
    1. confirmation of their enrolment, fees and course information;
    2. a copy of their previous year's academic results including overall Grade Point Average (GPA) score; and
    3. bank account verification.
  6. Successful scholarship recipients will be selected based on academic performance, high level scholarship and excellence.
  7. If an applicant withdraws from their course or papers prior to or after receiving the grant, they must notify the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust immediately. If this does not occur, an applicant may not be eligible for further scholarships.
  8. Upon graduation, all scholarship recipients must provide the Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust with a copy of their qualification.
  9. Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust has the sole discretion to accept or decline any application.
  10. Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust reserves the right to use a successful applicant's name and other details for publicity and promotion purposes.

    For Postgraduate and PhD Applicants:

  11. Postgraduate and PhD students completing work by thesis (where grades are yet to be awarded) may be considered for the scholarships.
  12. Applicants must provide a letter of recommendation from their thesis supervisor which should include an overview of their thesis progress to date.
