Jamestown's mission is to help children, youth, and their families develop and realize their full potential as empowered, productive, and active members of their community.

Jamestown uses a positive youth development framework as the foundation to all program design. We believe our youth have great assets and developing these assets is essential to their success.

We strive to provide the highest quality program for the lowest cost to all families. Consistent with the SF Unified School District's policy of Afterschool for All, Jamestown has instituted a fee structure based on a family's ability to pay. Participation and Scholarship Details

·

Jamestown offers limited scholarships for afterschool and summer. If applying for a scholarship and to qualify, income verification needs to be provided. Jamestown accepts the following income verification documents: 1. 2018 Income Tax Returns 2. Current SFUSD Free/Reduced Lunch meal letter The monthly afterschool payment (and summer weekly payments) will be waived for a family that is eligible for Free or Reduced lunch except for those co-payments required by local, state or federal tuition subsidy programs.  Families should complete the SFUSD Meal Application on an annual basis to be eligible for the monthly afterschool / weekly summer payment fee waiver/scholarship.  If a family completes the application online, an eligibility letter can be printed from a family’s online account. If a family completes a paper application, an eligibility letter will be sent to the house. Scholarship requests WILL NOT be considered until AFTER income has been verified by a Jamestown staff member and if needed, the application fee must be paid!!!
Scholarship requests WILL NOT be considered until AFTER family income has been verified by a Jamestown staff member AND the application fee is paid!!!  (If Applicable, the Soccer deposit must also be made to be considered.)

Scholarship Levels Explained:  Full Monthly Payments does not require income verification.  Sign up, pay, and your child will be automatically enrolled if completed during open registration. No guarantee if enrolled AFTER registration closes.  Children's Council families need to have Jamestown as their confirmed provider. Sign up, pay, and your child will be automatically enrolled if during pre-registration. No guarantee if enrolled AFTER registration closes. Tier 2, Tier 1 and Full Scholarship requests are first come, first serve and REQUIRE presentation of income verification, fee payments, and a waiting period for Jamestown Staff to process.  Everyone who signs up during pre-registration, provides income verification before the deadline, and pays applicable registration fee will receive a confirmation letter or waitlist letter by April 16, 2019.  IF your scholarship request is missing any of the above, your child will automatically fall on a waitlist.

Per grant guidelines, enrolled elementary & middle school students are EXPECTED to attend program EVERY DAY until 6pm.  Priority for enrollment is given to students who attend program EVERY DAY until 6pm.
Priority for Program Slots: Since the demand for our Programs often exceeds the funding capacity, students who are identified by the program as homeless youth or in foster care are given priority for enrollment. In addition, priority also goes to students who attend the full day program, five days a week.  Students are also identified through a school site specific process based on but not limited to: academic need, English Learner support, truancy, and socio-emotional behaviors need.  Priority is also given to students who attend the school site of after school program.

Please click "Next Page" button to complete the family and participant information.  You will then be prompted to select one, two or all three programs available to register your child.  (1) Summer 2019, (2) School Year 2019-20, (3)Soccer 2019-2020

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Unlike the school day, which is required to comply with Individualized with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the after school program must comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).   Services and activities provided by a public entity to the public, whether directly or through an agency, must be accessible to students with disabilities with reasonable accommodations (e.g. federal, state and local disabilities rights such as Section 504).  Enrollment in program can include query if student needs additional supports, but Jamestown will not use that information to influence enrollment.  If a student has a 504 plan or IEP plan, Jamestown may request access to that information in order to identify what reasonable accommodations can be made to support access to program.

****Safe and Supportive Environments- Progressive Response to Challenging Behavior

In collaboration with the school day, Jamestown programs must ensure policies and protocols within its program that are sufficient to ensure staff, student and family member safety.   Jamestown programs are required to document injuries, referrals and crisis situations. Jamestown guidelines for progressive response to challenging behavior with staff, students and families can be found in our Family Handbook.  This handbook includes Progressive Response to Challenging behavior universal practices across program to promote a safe and supportive community. It also includes internal processes for managing challenging behavior that may result in alternative consequences (e.g. Restorative Circles) or Tier II intervention (e.g. behavior contract) or  suspension from program.
