CLEAR/J-PAL South Asia: Measurement and Survey Design 2019: Application Form

This is a three-day introductory course that provides a thorough, step-by-step introduction to basic concepts of measurement theory and quantitative survey design. The course draws on J-PAL South Asia’s vast experience in running randomised evaluations that involve extensive primary data collection. Through this course, participants will learn how to decide what data to collect, design good survey instruments, pilot survey instruments, and develop field protocols.

Letter of support

All applications need to be accompanied by ONE letter of support from your organisation. Applications without a letter of support will be declined without review.

 

In the event you are unable to produce a letter of support by the stipulated deadline, kindly produce a self-declared undertaking stating: ‘The letter will be made available to the bursary programme office, New Delhi before the conference/course start date. I understand that if I am unable to produce the said letter before the conference/course start date, my bursary will stand cancelled.’

We will be offering a scholarship to one (1) student to attend our 2019 Measurement and Survey Design Course. The scholarship is open only for individuals who are currently enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate studies. This scholarship will only cover the full course fee for the selected student; travel, lodging and other incidental costs are not included.

REGISTRATION and COURSE FEE PAYMENT/CANCELLATION POLICY
Payment for those accepted to the course is due NO LATER THAN 10 April, 2019. J-PAL reserves the right to release any candidate for whom payment has not been received by such time. Cancellations or deferrals must be submitted in writing up to 14 days prior to the start of the course to receive a full refund. Due to course demands and the volume of pre-course preparation, cancellations or deferrals received within 14 days prior to the start of the course are subject to a fee of one-third the course fee; within seven days are subject to two-thirds of the course fee. Cancellations or deferrals after the start of the course are subject to full payment. All subsequent cancellations or deferrals are subject to a cancellation fee.

J-PAL South Asia will confirm receipt of your application via e-mail. J-PAL will notify applicants who have been accepted to the course by 29 March, 2019. Accepted applicants who have paid the course fee by the due date will receive course materials, including a course agenda with session times and meeting rooms/sites, as well as a  list of other participants, no later than a week prior to the course start date. Any course pre-readings, surveys, etc. will be provided to you.
