Nomination/Letter of Recommendation: 2019 SIR Leadership Development Academy

Introduction

The SIR Leadership Development Academy was developed to train the next generation of SIR leaders. First held in 2009, this dynamic leadership experience provides selected SIR members with valuable information that will combine with their existing base of knowledge to assist them in inspiring and leading their colleagues to improve public health through disease management and the use of minimally invasive, image-guided therapeutic interventions.

The 2019 SIR Leadership Development Academy will be held on Wednesday, November 13 through Thursday, November 14 in conjunction with the SIR Executive Council and SIR Foundation Board of Directors meetings in Tysons, Virginia.

The objective of the Leadership Academy is to facilitate the next generation of Interventional Radiologist through a range of didactic and interactive sessions pertaining to fundamental leadership, management, and communication topics. It will also include an orientation to leadership in SIR.
