Requirements:

Must be able to commute & participate in all classes.

Must be an Alameda County resident (excluding Berkeley) ages 15-24 yrs-old

PROGRAM DETAILS:

Raspberry Pi @ Hack the Hood, April 15th - June 14th, 2019 (9 Weeks)

  • Ages: 16-24

  • Days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (Lab)

  • Hours: 4:00pm - 6:00pm

Students will learn basic computer science, build computers using the Raspberry Pi, and learn basic to intermediate Python. Applicants that successfully complete this class will keep their Raspberry Pi and will receive support with job searching, interviewing and applications, will be introduced to careers in tech, and receive support for higher education opportunities.


Coding @ Hack the Hood, April 15th - June 14th, 2019 (9 Weeks)

  • Ages 15-24

  • Days: Tuesday, Thursday & Friday (lab)

  • Hours: 4:00pm - 6:00pm

  • Location: Hack the Hood, 439 International Blvd., Oakland, 94606

Coding @ Dewey Academy (Dates TBA)

  • Ages 15-20

  • Days: Tuesday, Thursday

  • Hours: 10:09am - 11:14am

  • Location:  Dewey Academy (1111 2nd Ave., 94606)

  • Must be a student at Dewey Academy

All accepted applicants in Coding classes will learn the core languages of the web (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript), will be introduced to basic programming and computer science, will receive support with job searching, interviewing, and applications, will be introduced to careers in tech, and receive support for higher educational opportunities.


This course will prep you for the Code Berkeley certificate at Berkeley City College.
