Testing accommodation request

Please carefully read the following information as it contains instructions on how to make requests for special accommodation when taking the PTE test.

Any accommodation requests (including special requirements or access arrangements) must be approved prior to booking a test. Please note, if you have already scheduled your test, we may not be able to provide the requested accommodation for you for your scheduled test date or venue. In such cases, you may need to cancel or reschedule your test and pay the rescheduling fee.

Whilst we make every effort to allow you to sit the PTE at your chosen centre, you may be required to attend another test centre in a different location. Not all test centres are able to offer the same access arrangements, so requests in advance help us direct you to the closest available suitable centre.

Your request will be assessed and you will be notified of the outcome within 3 working days of your request being received. We aim to schedule a test based on your preference, but it may be that we cannot offer that specific date. We may only be able to offer a test date with your accommodation request within 2-6 weeks of your preferred date, depending on what is being requested, centre availability and other factors.

Be sure that the spelling of your name on this form matches the name on the identification you will present on the day of your test. If this information does not match, you will not be admitted to the test centre, and you will lose your test fee.

Pearson complies with all applicable equalities and equal access legislation, and will make every reasonable effort to meet any request, however this may not be possible in every circumstance. Pearson reserves the right to refuse request for an accommodation which is unreasonable, would impose a disproportionate burden on Pearson and/or other test takers, or would infringe upon test’s validity or security.

Where your accommodation request is related to a medical reason or any other diagnosis, the documentation should include current (dated within the last two years) confirmation of your circumstances from a qualified professional (i.e. a medical professional) verifying the nature and impact of your condition or diagnosis. Pearson reserves the right to request further documentation or more details at any time when considering any special accommodation request. We may also accept non-current documentation where Pearson deems it appropriate.
