Apply to be a part of IAVA's Cavalry

IAVA’s Cavalry is our premier leadership development program. What started as a handful of veterans walking the halls of Congress has evolved into a series of well-structured sessions that train post-9/11 generation veterans in advocacy.

Those chosen to be Cavalry Members get the opportunity to meet with policymakers, share their stories with them and in the media with reporters, and discuss the issues that matter most to post-9/11 veterans. When IAVA calls in our Cavalry, our nation’s leaders listen and real change happens.

In past years, Cavalry members have worked alongside IAVA staff to meet with over 100 congressional offices and key Executive Branch leaders, including the White House. Our collective efforts have helped move the needle on issues of importance to the post-9/11 generation and America.

This year, more than ever, the veteran voice is needed not just in Washington but also in communities across the country to validate and support our democratic process and fight for our freedoms. IAVA is here to equip you with the tools to help us protect democracy and fight for other key issues during this most important year in our nation’s history.

Make history with us!

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, but to participate in our first training sessions, your application must be received by January 17, 2025, 6 PM ET.
