Welcome to the Employment Support Fund Application Form.

4 things to do before you start filling in this form

1) Check you understand what the Employment Support Fund is for.
Through the fund you can apply to receive items like a laptop or a place on a training course that will help you improve your work situation. You can read the full details on our website.

3) Research the item you would like. In the form, we will ask you to copy and paste a website link to show us where we can buy the item. We’ll need a link to the exact item and it must cost £500 or less. 

4) Make sure you have thought about how the item you request will help you with work. We'll be asking you to tell us more about this on the form. 


Completing the form 

The form will take you 45 minutes to complete. There are 7 sections to fill in.

If you need to, you can save the form at any time and come back to complete it later. 

It's fine to get someone to help you or fill in the form for you.


Deadline and hearing back from us

You must send us the form by 1pm on Monday 14 October

Once you have sent us the form, our team will take a look your application and we'll be in touch via email by Monday 11 November. Not every application will be successful, but we will let you know either way. 

How you fit the criteria for the Employment Support Fund

To apply for the Employment Support Fund, you must be able to answer yes to all of the questions below. 

If your honest answer to one of these questions is no, you are not able to apply. 





If you are on a zero hours contract, we understand that sometimes you might work more than 16 hours a week. If you work on average less then 16 hours a week, you can apply.

For example, Job seekers allowance, Universal credit, income support or Employment support allowance.

About you 
















Your situation




By caring responsibilities, we mean helping someone who could not manage without you. This might mean caring for someone due to age, physical illness, mental illness, substance abuse or disability.

By a care leaver, we mean an adult who has spent time in care as a child. This includes foster care, residential care or children's homes. 




Your request for the Employment Support Fund

In this part of the form we would like you to tell us what item you would like. 

You will need to have a website link ready to show us where we can buy the item if your application is successful. We’ll need a link to the exact item and it must cost £500 or less. 

If you like, you can request more than one kind of item, but the total must be £500 or less. 

Remember, if your application is successful, we won't be giving you money. We will buy the item for you. 
























If you would like to apply for driving lessons, the Employment Support Fund can offer you a choice of 3 packages. 

1) New to driving
This driving package is for young women who are learning to drive from scratch. The package covers
  • the cost of a provisional license 
  • driving lessons to the value of £450 (about 20 lessons) 

2) Refresher
This driving package is for young women who have a provisional license and have had some driving lessons but are not ready for their test yet. The package covers
  • the cost of a theory test
  • driving lessons to the value of £350 (about 15 lessons)

3) Close to passing
This package is for young women who feel ready to take their driving test and need a few refresher lessons first. The package covers 
  • the cost of the practical driving test 
  • driving lessons to the value of £250 (about 10 lessons) 






How the Employment Support Fund can help you
