Nth Dimensions provides an array of services to students in the medical education and training pipeline from undergraduate through post-residency; The Nth Dimensions Summer Internship (NDSI) is one way in which Nth Dimensions lives out its ongoing mission to diversify the physician workforce.
NDSI comprises five (5) medical and allied health specialties: Dermatology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Pathology, Physical Therapy, and Radiology. Selected participants spend eight (8) weeks with a specialty-specific preceptor at one of Nth Dimensions' partner institutions or medical centers nationwide.

Eligibility
Must be from a group underrepresented in medicine.
Must be currently enrolled AND in good standing at an accredited U.S. Medical School. Foriegn medical students who attend a U.S. campus are not eligible.
Must be a current first-year medical student. Except for Physical Therapy Applicants.
Physical Therapy applicants are rising second or third year undergraduate students, in good standing from an accredited U.S. college or university.
Must be a U.S. citizen, a permanent resident, or an individual granted deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) status by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Letter(s) of Recommendation
Once the application is completed and submitted, a form will be emailed to your letter writer for completion.
The letter of recommendation is form driven and asks specific questions. Please let your author know to be on the lookout for the form.
ALL letters of recommendation need to be received by November 10, 2022.

Program Curriculum
The program will span 8 weeks (June 3, 2023 to July 30, 2023) and will include the following activities:
Nth Dimensions volunteer faculty will serve as mentors and preceptors in clinical and operative settings.
Students will receive in-person and virtual mentoring
Students will engage in web-based lectures
Students will also partner with their preceptor (and/or their designee) for research opportunities in basic science, translational science and clinical research.
Students will present their research activity via poster and oral presentation at the National Medical Association (NMA)'s Annual Convention and Scientific Assembly.
