Volunteer Job Description
This position provides an accessible recreation opportunity through community partnership, the provision of adaptive ice skating equipment and modified instruction as needed to develop standup skating skills and independent seated skating skills. Volunteer responsibilities include: - assist with unloading ice skating equipment onsite - help manage registration/check-in as participants arrive - assist NEP staff with participant transfers in/out of adaptive skating equipment - skating alongside and/or pushing participants in adaptive skating equipment - assist with packing NEP vehicle after the event Pre-Requisites for Ice Skating: - Volunteers should be appropriately dressed in athletic attire, and are encouraged to bring their own skates, skate rentals are available onsite for those not having their own. - Skates are required for on-ice assistance.
