Oakland Reads is a campaign of the Oakland Literacy Coalition aimed at dramatically increasing third grade reading achievement among Oakland students. Hosting a Family Reading Celebration, funded by an Oakland Reads grant, is a great way for your organization to get involved in the campaign and share the fun and importance of reading with your families.

The deadline to apply for a 2019-20 school year grant is Friday, October 4. Funding decisions will be announced by Friday, October 18. Grants recipients must use funds for a Family Reading Celebration during the 2019-20 school year.
