Education Programs Assistant / Intern

The Boston and Houston Program Teams of Latinos for Education seek an Education Programs Assistant (Graduate or rising Undergraduate Senior) during the 2019 fall and 2020 spring semester. The selected candidate will work at the following physical locations:

Boston: CIC, 50 Milk St. 16th Floor

Houston: TEACH Houston, 2900 Weslayan St. Ste. 375

As well as remote on certain days


The Education Programs Assistant (EPA) will work on projects and activities supporting the overall goals of the Aspiring Latino Leaders Fellowship and Latino Board Fellowship. They will offer support for executing program logistics for events, activities, and all administrative processes that support the development of the fellowships. The EPA may also assist with the development of program materials and content for virtual and in-person program and outreach events. All events are local, and the Fellowship sessions are facilitated between September and May. Though the candidate may help at our local events, no out-of-town travel is involved in this position. 


Responsibilities may include:  

  • Supporting all program activities and processes, including workshops and conferences  
  • Assisting with event planning and logistics  
  • Supporting partnership and fellowship recruitment data collection and management 
  • Drafting and revising content for program materials, publications, and advertisements (e.g. newsletter, webinars)  
  • Data entry, researching and reporting on various topics  Facilitating focus groups with Latino families and educators to inform MA and TX ed policy agenda  
  • Copy-editing and proofing reports and documentation 
  • Ordering program materials and supplies and maintaining an inventory with expenses 
  • Maintaining the fellowship’s Google Drive sites 
  • Tracking completion of fellowship activities by its participants in Salesforce
