2022 Nonprofit Innovation Lab Application

The 2022 Nonprofit Innovation Lab, an initiative of United Way of Rhode Island and Social Enterprise Greenhouse, is a selective six-month program that will offer up to 10 Rhode Island nonprofits the opportunity to transform innovative ideas into reality, enabling them to create even more social impact as they bring innovation and entrepreneurial thinking to their organizations. 

Application information:
  • Time Expectations:
    • The application and supplementary documents will take approximately 2 - 4 hours to complete. There are no word limits, but you are encouraged to be as concise as possible. 
    • Applications are due by April 22nd, 2022.
  • Completing Your Application:
    • If you’d prefer to work offline on your application, you can download a fillable worksheet here
    • If you need to save your application and return at a later time, check the box at the top of the screen next to "Save my progress and resume later" at the end of your session and enter your email and a password. You will then receive an email confirming your submission has been saved. To return to your application, click the link in this email.
  • Application Support:

(Please attach a copy of the most recent audit financials or review and management letter. An agency with an annual expenditure of over $750,000 must have an audit prepared by an independent certified public accountant. An agency with an annual expenditure under $750,000 may submit unaudited financial statements, along with a letter from their board of directors (chair or treasurer) outlining their financial management processes and acknowledging their fiduciary responsibility).


NOTE: The Nonprofit Innovation Lab program is designed as a Fellowship program in which one individual participates for the majority of the program. However, we welcome the Fellow to invite colleagues within their nonprofit to join them for any sessions that may be directly related to their subject matter expertise and support the organization's ability to successfully implement their innovative idea.
