Foreclosure Prevention Basics: What You Need to Know to Assist Struggling Homeowners

This training covers the basics of mortgage lending and loan servicing, the foreclosure process, representing homeowners at foreclosure mediation, loan modifications and other loss mitigation options, as well as post-mediation options.  Participation is open to lawyers eligible to practice in Maryland who agree to accept 1 pro bono foreclosure case placement within 1 year of registering. Malpractice insurance, case support, and access to a mentor will be available to lawyers taking pro bono cases.
