Please note that Spotlight Education events are only open to Minnesota high school students and/or Spotlight alumni.

Join us on Monday, March 25th from 4:15-6:15pm at Mayo High School in Rochester!

We are bringing facilitators to Mayo High School to support a discussion with BIPOC student performers and technicians about their lived experience working as artists of color in the theatre industry.

Join us at the Hennepin Event Center (900 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis) for free training in singing, dancing and acting! Attend one session or attend them all! Bring a friend and build your skills this winter ahead of Spotlight Showcase 2024!

Workshops run on Thursdays from 5:30-7:00pm.

Join us virtually on March 5th from 5:00-5:45pm on Zoom to get insider information on working as a publicist, how to create a strong story when publicizing a show or event, what makes captivating content and more!

Members from the Spotlight Education team will help you prepare to apply for the Student Publicists Select Track program for Spotlight Showcase 2024!

Join us at the the State Theatre for the Spotlight Orchestra Info Session, Q+A and a free ticket to see Swan Lake performed with a LIVE orchestra.

This info session will take place on Saturday, March 16th. Info session will begin down the hall from the box office at the State Theatre promptly at 6:15pm and the show will start at 7pm. Be sure to have your ride pick you up promptly at the show's end. **Please note: dinner will not be provided**

Note: We have limited availability for headshots and all slots have been filled. Please join the waitlist - any openings will be filled on a first come first served basis.

Join us at the State Theatre in Downtown Minneapolis for our annual Tech Day on Saturday, January 20th. We will split the day into two sessions. You are welcome to attend both, but be aware that lunch will not be provided.

Breakout sessions will include hands-on experience in your choice of the following topics:
Spotlight Showcase Technical Theater Career Pathway - Info & Portfolio Development
Stage Management
Lighting / Electrics
Sound Design & Engineering
Carpentry, Fly Rail & Run Crew
Theater & Venue Management

Each session will consist of two breakout sessions. We will do our best to accommodate your preferences. Rank your topic choices below.

Join us on Thursday, January 18th from 4:30-6:00pm at the Hennepin Event Center for a Broadway Workshop with Spotlight Alum, Jackson Grove! Jackson was one of the 2018 Jimmy Nominees from Minnesota, now is now touring the country with Funny Girl! He will teach a 90-minute dance workshop and save some time for a Q+A as well.

Come in clothes and shoes you can dance in!

This event includes a) a Sondheim workshop led by Peter Rothstein, b) dinner provided by Spotlight Education, and c) a ticket to Merrily We Roll Along and Theater Latté Da.
