Priority 1:
Creating systems and processes to further involve supported people in the development and reviewing of their behaviour support plans, active support plans and person centred plans. To develop an easy read PBS plan tool that ensures that primary, secondary and reactive strategies are accessible to all supported people in a format they can understand and contribute to. Exploring creative systems utilising the use of technology for those who may find verbal or written information difficult to process. Supported people within the organisation with lived experience will be involved in the development of these tools.
Measure of Success:
Be able to evidence that a range of different tools and resources have been developed to actively involve supported people in the development and reviewing processes of their support. Collect data across services in relation to how many supported people have actively contributed to their support plans and have access to their support plan in way that is accessible to them on an individualised basis.
Priority 2:
1st Enable aim to become a trauma informed organisation and aim to utilise trauma informed practice to develop preventative strategies and personalised support for all supported people Enhance the knowledge base of all within the organisation in relation to Trauma informed care and how this can be incorporated into individuals support. Explore further training opportunities to disseminate throughout the organisations in relation to trauma informed care. Ensure that service managers have knowledge around engaging staff in trauma informed supervision and reflective practice.
Measure of Success:
Management and support staff across the organisation will have completed training and have a good awareness of Trauma Informed Care. Training statistics will evidence this. Data will be collected in relation to how often and how effectively trauma informed supervision and reflection is carried out on a service wide level. Ongoing analysis of the data will inform the ongoing need within the organisation in regards to ongoing training support required to embed a trauma informed awareness and approach to support provided.
Priority 3:
To develop service wide review and planning systems to evaluate and reduce restrictive practices. Ensuring that PBS facilitators in each locality are actively engaging services in developing individualised and service level restrictive practice reduction plans and regularly reviewing these. Ensuring that all supported people in particular those who's support is implemented with Court of Protection Authorisation have their support regularly reviewed with the input from their multi professional team and include the supported person and their families.
Measure of Success:
1st Enable will be able to evidence the engagement with individuals multi professional teams and families to request regular reviews are carried out. Data will be collected in relation to the number of individuals within each locality who have had their support reviewed both internally and with external input. Data will also be collected on the number of supported people who have been directly involved in the review of their support and the number of supported people who's families or important people to them have been involved.
