Priority 1:
1. Carry out a full review of all TNA’s across those services using Restrictive Physical Interventions (Station Road, Hollyrood, Woodlands, The Maples)
Measure of Success:
SU have PBS plans in place which consider ways to reduce physical interventions Incidents are closely monitored, and the information is used to review the PBS plans
Priority 2:
2. Now that a Head of PBS has been appointed, we want to increase staff knowledge in autism and learning disability and the importance of implementing and using a PBS approach when writing support plans and to review and monitor these.
Measure of Success:
All staff in Autism Services will receive PBS training and advanced autism training. Individuals within these services will be assessed to ascertain behavioural support need, and relevant individuals will also receive person specific workshops to coach staff through their PBS plans and behavioural support strategies. Outcome measures such as quality of life, levels of engagement and levels of challenging behaviour will be used at baseline, during and post intervention to assess progress/fidelity of input.
Priority 3:
3. Analyse the data through internal QA of all incidents across the 4 services in the last 12 months and continue support with development and changes needed.
Measure of Success:
The PBS Team will analyse all incidents of restrictive interventions and review the plans as a result of the reviews. The Head of PI will be devising a method to review the data to support a Restrictive Intervention Reduction plan.
